I booked 5 tickets from Coimbatore to Namakkal where I told the booking office that I am carrying a personal suite case with personal things. The person told me that it is fine, when boarded also they said nothing, all of a sudden mid way they said I have to pay 100 rupees for the suitecase as it is considered as luggage. It was a big surprise as they never said anything until then. It is not acceptable a travels charging money for carrying personal things. Beware of these cheaters...I had to argue for 15 mins to get the amount waived...worst experiences...
