Le Corbusier at his best as he designed not just the capitol complex of the new city of Chandigarh but also the whole city itself in the get days of modern architecture. India embraced it with open arms and displayed to the world at large that we are a progressive and modern thinking nation way back in 1950. Pt. Nehru was instrumental in getting the great master to do this in the twilight of his career.

Nice place, the security was really tight for some reason maybe because I was there for free and they only let me take three photos. Giving four stars because it was not that well maintained.

Historic structure that signifies the spirit of the city. I was told that the pit like structure before the monument was once used to deliver speeches.

The space is well maintained and is fit for the general public. A great attraction for kids due to its symbolic picture.

The 50 ton hand rotates in cool breeze and greenery around. A very calm and quiet place with lots of fresh air.

An amazing place to hold open-air events. Attended Diwali chapter of Kavitactic here, and the place was lit up with candles. Also the lights on the distorted hand seems good during evening time. Greenery all around adds up to the calm of the place..!!
