B P BhatWhom am I to give a star rating to these types of master pieces? Dabhoi is a major gateway to Narmada Dam. So it will be a big blunder if you skip this place and proceed straight towards the Narmada Dam. As you take a right turn from the Narmada Dam road, you can immediately noticed the Gate, which happens to be the western gate. I have seen many forts in India, including the famous Devagiri Daulatabad Fort (This was never conquered in any war). For the first time, I was stunned by looking at the architecture of the Fort wall. I was confused whether it is a fort wall or a Temple wall. The eastern gate is much more beautiful than this one. It is exactly on the opposite end, and is around 1 km from here. It is worth going there. Never ever miss this place while going to Narmada Dam.

Droid SachOnce upon a time whole Dabhoi city seem to be a part of fort. There are 4 gates in 4 directions. Each gate has beautiful stone carvings. It looked like good efforts are being put to maintain the site. Hira Gate & North gate seemed larger that other 2gates. Locals say four gates are around 700 years old. Hira Gate has a temple and an interesting story which says the builder of these gates is buried in the wall of this gate. You can easily spot significantly old houses while riding through narrow lanes of Dabhoi town. I would insist on visiting nearby Wadhwana Bird sanctuary
