Formerly known as Central Horticultural Experimental Station was set up by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in 1979. This is research station for development of horticulture and agroforestry suitable for eastern region. Fruit trees and other vegetable plants are available on large scale The campus is spread in large area with fields to carryout experiments. There are quarters for faculty, guest house and a library along with other infrastructures. The campus is green and well maintained.
