We visited Gajalee on a Friday, and the place was not too crowded. We were seated immediately on arrival. The environment was casual and inviting. The building itself is a traditional tiled roof bungalow, beautifully maintained. The pleasant weather and the sound of the fountain outside made it a very pleasurable ambience. We ordered a pomfret masala fry, which is the best we have had so far. The fish was cooked just right and the blend of the masala was perfect. The crispy prawns and the clear crab soup were a delight to our tastebuds. We ended our dinner with caramel custard for dessert. The custard itself was perfection, and is is the best caramel custard we have ever eaten in a restaurant. All in all it was a very pleasant and wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Mangalore, who wishes to experience an authentic meal.
