    Good temple. While we went the temple is closed. Inside there is a House n ppl living there once we call them they ll open it.

    When we compare this temple to chitharal jain temple. It is not heavy Veena poovu of kuamarnasan waswirtten in the presence of jainamedu.

    The temple was constructed by Diamond merchants from Karnataka in 1520 or so and had families around the temple. Deity worshipped is CHANDRA PRABHA the 8th Tirthangara. Crescent moon is his symbol. The temple was plundered by Tipu around August of 1786 along with other HINDU temples of the area. It was in ruined form for many years.The present temple is a reconstruction of 2013.

    Jain culture and temples are very rare in Kerala. This jain temple is located in Jainimedu. It is 15th century temple. Nice architecture.The temple complex has been renovated beautifully keeping the heritage intact.Best time to visit is from September to November.

    Jainimedu Jain temple in Palakkad, on the western suburbs of the town, was constructed around 500-yr ago by Jain head, Inchanna Satur, for the Jain sage Chandranathaswamy. This Jain temple is 32 feet long and 20 feet wide. This granite temple has plain walls with no decorations and also has images of the Jain Thirthankaras and Yakshinis.
