always a pleasure to visit the art and design book store. every time i have happened to go there i have been welcomed with a cold bottle of water and an occasional hot cup of coffee and every time i leave, my wallet is a considerably lighter. from an architects point of view this store certainly fills the void in mumbai where their is a certain lack of good books and monographs on architects and their practices, what is more welcoming is the fact that we do not find the more stereotypical coffee table books here, but the more engaging and a much wider array of topics. their collection of posters and periodicals is really nice too, although i have to buy any posters from them yet, i have spend a significant amount of time browsing thru their collection. the video archive on architecture is a bit disappointing, but i really hope that they will be update that soon. apart from the books and the posters what is worth noting is the very beautiful designed space itself. my best feature is the leather padded soft base where each book rests, thankfully someone cares about books and how you stack them as much as me…..
