Established in 1986 under the National Social Forestry Project, the Forestry Training Institute, Jaipur, lies amid a sprawling green campus in the heart of the city on Jawaharlal Nehru Marg. Two subsidiary campuses function from Jodhpur and Alwar providing regular training to foresters, forest guards and frontline staff. Having come a long way since its inception, the F.T.I. today stands out as an excellent support centre and a forum for exposure to the new challenges emerging out of the changing role of forestry in the precariously placed 21st century environment
