Location is great. Middle of the lake. Garden is not well maintained. We visited in October, still found some part of the park water logged. The cafeteria is uniquely located. But has limited menu. The overall surrounding is out standing. Great mountain view.

It is one of the oldest solar observatory of India.There is restricted entry for observatory staff only.The observatory made here because of pollution free environment here.The sky here maximum cloud free and only cloudy in Monsoon session for a little. Secondly Udaipur city is around 500 meter high from sea level which is higher then surrounding . This comes in news whenever solar eclipse occur in Rajasthan.
