Sudheer PrasadVery responsible agency, perfectly planned trips. Our vacation to Sikkim was a pleasure (Gangtok, Lachen, Lachung), thanks to Arun (Travel Zone). Right from the pick up from Bagdogra Apt to permits and hotel bookings , all were done correctly. Our driver Hem was a great driver, very punctual, fast but not rash. The Gangtok hotel (Le Primula) was a bit of a let down due to its poor up keep and cleanliness, how ever the very nice staff made up for it. The best accommodation was in Season House, Lachung, it is really a great place. Sikkim-Tours&Travels, quoted lower but they stopped responding subsequently, may be they were overbooked. Travel Zone is definitely a reliable agency.

Hvs SastryWe traveled in Sikkim between 3rd may to 11th May 2016 and a heterogeneous group of eight from 10 to 76! Pros: The package price was very reasonable. I checked the price for the hotels and am sure that he has passed on much of the commission he would have received from the hotels. He has offered le-primula ( 4 nights), Magpie (1 night), season house (2 nights including lunch and dinner), himalayan retreat (1 night including lunch and dinner). All hotels included free breakfast but the timings on two days resulted in skipping the breakfast. However, the hotel le -primula was not upto the mark in terms of service. Indeed they did not even provide three rooms in one floor despite knowing our reservation well in advance. Also the hotel had no water and the intercom was not working making us to move THREE ROOMS till 11 PM and still the water was not available. The quality of the rooms in terms of size and facilities was also not uniform on any of the four nights. It looks like the hotel took us for a ride because we were not the shouting type. Even for a cup of hot milk and green salad, they made us to wait for more than 150 minutes (2 1/2 hours). Mr Arun Bhagat, apparently got the hotel to provide us rooms on the same floor for the last two nights and they were somewhat better. This is where I am unsure of what we have paid for and what we got in the hotel. The hotel manager tried to bluff me saying that they gave us the upgraded rooms on the first night though it was factually incorrect. This is the only instance where the service given was not transparent and I cannot say for sure that travel zone did mischief. He was very helpful even in giving us the breakup for transport so that we can claim LTC from our office. He also arranged all permits in time and even the weather was surprisingly congenial as there were no major rains or traffic snarls on any of the day. Again, the trip to nathu la pass was a little problematic as he clubbed two vehicles and the other vehicle was not to be seen and there was no network to call! He explained about the limitation of the number of vehicles that are allowed and I believe him. Cons: Though the driver was quite good, the vehicle was pretty old and we had to push it in a drizzle in one instance. But this was more than compensated by the co-operative nature of the driver. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the transaction with hotel le-primula was not as smooth as it ought to have been and the price reduction for giving a lower costing hotel (magpie) for one night has not been passed on to us fully as I can see from the difference in tariffs online for both the hotels. Would have been more pleasant had he been able to give us a newer vehicle. I do recommend him to my colleagues and the readers here. I would also prefer him in case I will travel to Bhutan where he told me that he operates.
