It would have been a magnificent fort in the past. But there have been continues encroachments both in and outside by the so called civilians. The posterior part has tottally dilapidated. People are least bothered of their own pride, they indulge in doing all nasty things. Despite all such ugly developments the fort attracts anyone who is interested in hisotrical things.

Gadwal fort is a good historic place...but it lost its supremacy due to not taking proper care. Now recently it was adopted by raghavendra matt mangmt and doing well of this place as a holy sacrified with chennakesava temple inside it. In this fort, their is a college named after the queen called "Maha adi laxmi devi" parting a sound knowledge of education to the local pupils...
