Really a great historical and archeological site... It is a place of Mythology as well Indian independence history... Incidents like "Satti Chaura Ghat" or "Massacre Ghat" , "Siege of Kanpur" previously known as Cawnpore, "Disappearance of Nana Sahib" Etc was the famous history of this city. Well here as in Mythology, it was a part of The Ramayana and later built by Peshwa-II in 1803 A.D. as this was going to be the turning point of Sepoy Mutiny of 1857.
