The college has been established on 17th August, 1989 with a view to imparting sea and post sea maritime training to students who have completed their marine graduate level courses college was established for research, experiment, design and development in the field of science and technology and to provide education training for the Ship Industry. The college has achieved an excellent reputation as a provider of a quality training under the aegis of The Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. Extensive facilities and highly experienced staff have made it a leading maritime College in India. The Ministry of Communications – Govt. of India has authorized “Seacom Marine College” to impart training and instructions in relation to Radio Communication at Calcutta. The college started intensive research and experiment for the development of science and technologies. To accelerate technological development the Central Govt. further authorized Seacom Marine college to establish, maintain and work for the purpose of research, experimentation, design/development at Calcutta. Additionally the college is an approved examination center for Ministry of Aeronautics, Government of India. The status of the college is proprietorship represented by the proprietor – Sri Anish Chakraborty who himself is a Marine Officer young and energetic with great business acumen, administrative skill and has developed considerable experience in handling and administering institutions of any length and size.

Seacom Marine College is an extremely reputed institution which gives all the seafarers an end to end upgradation of all their day to day courses by a set of eminent faculties throughout the shipping industry. All of this is affordable at reasonable rates and prices. This is a part of the seacom group of colleges whose sister concern is located in Howrah. Absolutely amazing teaching standards and worth a place learning from. I will suggest to my fellow seafarers to try the courses or refresher courses they offer.....
