If you are thinking to hire a cab & if you want to taste something different while going ‘Darjeeling the hill station’ this post may be useful for you!! If you are planning to go to Darjeeling you have to go through Kurserong Town; and you will be catching the ‘Hill Cart’ Road heading towards North; but if you want to change your route I have a suggestion for you; Starting from Siliguri Town (Down hill) it will take around 1.30 to 2 hours to reach the midway ‘Kurserong’ now forget the main road and take a diversion towards ‘Dow Hill’ through ‘Baghgora Rd’ – it’s a old military road going through the forest; once you will cross the ‘Dow Hill Park’ it’s all 200 – 300 feet long pine tree all around; absolute peace just enjoy speechless beauty of nature; hardly you will find any vehicle / people on the road once you cross the last village ‘Chimny’ ; don’t worry it’s secure path; it will take around 1 -1.30 hour to cross the location and you will be jointing to ‘Dilaram’ on the National Highway towards Darjeeling; But believe me you will find it really different and will be refreshed; although you have to bear the road condition but remember you are here for nature-in-natural. Hardly any tourist goes through this road, that’s why this is a virgin land can be explored!!!!!
