Indrani BhattacharyaI would like to share a vary bad experience regarding misbehaviour as well as malpractice of a medical practitioner, named Dr. Susanta Mukherjee, along with one of his associates, of Netra Kiran Eye Foundation, situated at # 58, Thakur Das Babu lane Opp Bandhab Sangha Puja Ground, Serampore, Hooghly. My mother had undergone FECO Surgery under the aforementioned practitioner, who has applied wrong medicine to her, in spite of knowing that she is suffering from erosive Gastritis and osteoarthritis. This caused abrupt swelling of both eyes along with abnormal itching which caused enormous pain and discomfort to her. Later he changed the medicine. He overlooked the medical history of my mother and prescribed the medicines which shows sheer negligence on his part. Besides this, the said medical practitioner along with the attendant have misbehaved with us with abusive language with topmost voice, violating the medical ethics, when I have inquired politely, to the attendant that "Why my mother, who is NOT well physically, has to wait for an unnecessary long time, in spite of our early serial number and early reporting time?" My mother, who is a heart patient was terribly scared by the gesture of the said practitioner. I, am taking the matter seriously and will urge the authorities to take stern action against the said practitioner as well as the corrupt attendant, which has caused immense humiliation to me and my ailing mother.
