The temple spreads over a large area and is maintained by Sadhus( unlike some which are maintained by Panditjis). Baba Alaknath refers to Lord Shiva. A small chamber holds the Shivalingam and the stem of a huge peepal tree. Devotees may enter this chamber and exit from the 2nd gate. The space allows only 4-5 people at once inside this chamber. Apart from Lord shiva, the complex has several temples devoted to other Gods ( Krishna, Devi, etc). The complex also holds Samadhis of Babas who once managed this temple. There are separate rooms inside the temple where many Sadhus live and can be seen in traditional attires. A chamber is filled with water and contains a floating stone. It also has many turtles. A famous temple inside the complex is that of Lord Shani. This temple has a very old tree which was once believed to fufill any wish of a devotee who promised to pour mustard oil to an orifice in the tree. The tree stem exist even today and is covered with black clothes( signifying its connection with Shani God). The stem is dark black now. There also exist a huge statue of Lord Hanuman at the entrance of the temple complex which is visible from far. There is a long queue of devotees on Mondays and Shivaratri. Opposite to the complex are some other old temples of Bareilly. They belong to Shiva and Female Goddess respectively. The former has a giant Shivlingam.
