SCERT is one of the premier state level institutions dealing with school education and research and capacity building of its officers working at district level. It used to prepare Master Trainer who in turn are supposed to impart training to officers working at district, block and lower levels. Many of its faculty is trained at NCERT and NUEPA, New Delhi. Across India, SCERT is being headed by DIrector who is from the mainstream departments. SCERT closely works with the office of the SPD, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. All the states have SCERTs most of which is located at the state HQ. Its faculty needs more orientation.
