A sumptuous collection of books,of almost all famous authors. The section of Malayalam literature is very rich and updated. The facilities are good. I think the authorities recently took initiative to renovate the building and provided basic necessities to this institution. It is situated in a heritage building. The place is very nostalgic with its setting, old books and with the grey-haired gentlemen spending their time in the reading room. The reading room is open from 8 am to 8 pm. For a resource-scarce area like Alappuzha this one is a blessing. I really loved this place. More of the natives should come forward to make the best use of it and to kick start a cultural movement through such temples of knowledge.
