Terry CNot recommended: Poor workmanship; they took my money, damaged my frames and now refuse to compensate for these damages. Mother Opticals damaged (melted) my Porsche Design frames which was valued at over Rs. 24,000. It has been 4 months since this incident and they still have not compensated for these damages. Rather, they have tried to avoid this issue. In total, I have spent well over Rs. 60,000 on 2 frames + lenses at Mother Opticals over the past few years. Apparently, being a loyal customer means nothing to Mother Opticals. They happily take your money, but when they damage your frames, they do not want to compensate for the damages. Potential customers should take note of this review. Four months ago, I purchased a new set of frames valued at over Rs. 32,000. I also decided to upgrade the lenses on my Porsche Design frames (valued at Rs. 24,000 and also purchased from Mother Opticals a few years prior – obviously, I returned because of their previously good service). I received both frames a week later and the once beautiful Porsche Design frames was now melted and distorted (see photo). Furthermore, the cutting of lenses on both frames was extremely poor. It was almost as if an untrained person (or even a child) cut and installed the lenses. The Porsche Design frames have been permanently damaged. After realizing that the frames were PERMANENTLY damaged, I asked for an equivalent replacement. Mother Opticals has spent the last 4 months giving me lies and false promises and are now trying to convince me that they have “repaired” my frames. However, it is clear that the frames are PERMANENTLY damaged. They will not accept this FACT and are trying to avoid a fair compensation for me. Furthermore, they claim that my frames are “too old” and therefore they should not replace it!!! IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW OLD MY FRAMES ARE. Mother Opticals: you damaged my frames because of your own POOR WORKMANSHIP. If Mother Opticals had any integrity, they would have replaced or compensated for these damages. It is now August and they still have not done anything, even after my family and I have kindly and patiently asked them for a same or equivalent replacement. Each time, they say that my frames are “too old”! MY PORSCHE DESIGN FRAMES ARE NOT OLD: even before, Mother Opticals damaged them, I would still receive many compliments on how good the frames were (OBVIOUSLY, WHEN YOU SPEND OVER RS. 20,000 YOU EXPECT THE FRAMES TO LAST FOR MANY YEARS!!!) Mother Opticals is basically saying that once they take your money, they can do whatever damage they want to your frames! I cannot recommend Mother Opticals for the above reasons. Their quality of workmanship and service quality have both dropped significantly from my initial visit a few years ago. It is clear that they do not value their customers and believe that it is within their rights to damage their customer’s frames with absolutely no repercussions to themselves. Put yourself in my position. Imagine that you pay tens of thousands of Rupees (or any amount) on a pair of frames. When Mother Opticals permanently damages your frames, they just tell you to accept the damaged frames and refuse to replace it. After spending that much money at their shop – that is the response you would get! Do you really want to give your money (that you worked very hard for) to this shop?? As of the date of this review, I am still waiting for them to provide an equivalent replacement. This is a fair request considering that MOTHER OPTICALS permanently damaged my frames.
