Calm serene. Takes you to an era, when life was leisurely and living was still fun ☺️. Take a walk and enjoy the bargaining in the shops. This place offers you mid century amidst general hustle bustle of a metro.

It is only 50metre far from Chinese fishing net point. No board is there which says that it is Vasco da gama point Just enjoy the fort Kochi beach.

A large open area around the park and the Chinese fishing nets. Throughout the day, many make shift stalls dot the area selling souvenirs, snacks, drinks and food. Street vendors are friendly as you walk through the area. Many trees around the area provide good shade in the afternoon, and with the nice breeze from the sea, it becomes a nice place to hang out. Better still in the evening time or early night. Good get together place for friends for just sitting and watching the sea and enjoying the activities around. There is a particular stall manned by a young man selling fried tapioca (kappa) chips, which is very nice when spiced with chilly powder.

No reason to go to the square itself as there is nothing to see. The fishing on the beach on the other hand is a nice experience, if you like fishing and stuff that is...

Kochi, the commercial capital of Kerala, the last port of Vasco Da Gama, where you will find synagogues, mosques, churches and temples side by side, is a place with a fascinating history. The huge cantilevered fishing net, the Chinese fishing nets, seen here is a legacy of its spellbinding past. The nets, set up on teak and bamboo poles, were brought by one of the first visitors to the Malabar Coast, the traders from the court of Kublai Khan. An ideal place to watch fishermen use these nets is the Vasco da Gama square, a narrow promenade along the beach. The square, which has numerous stalls serving fresh delicious seafood, tender coconut and so on, is also perfect for a nice, relaxed evening.

Although the beach is a point of attraction, there is nothing much to look forward to over here. But walking along the sides of the sea is a good experience if going with friends.
