A mess of a market - but everything you need is available. The market turns into a swamp in the monsoons. At other times its a dry swamp. But the helpful and courteous shopkeepers, wide product availability, etc. make up for it. Car parking is next to impossible - unless you arrive between 9 and 11 am (on a weekday), or before 10 AM (on Sunday). Further, there are many great South Indian restaurants in and around the market - this is something no other market in Mumbai has. Overall a mess - but a routine, enjoyable Indian mess.

You get vegetables fruits flowers food and all the daily necessary essentials for South Indian comunities You can also get access to various South Indian temples and culture including dance and music. Difficult to find another place in Maharashtra or other north states to match or even come in any where near Matunga,
