    Visited on Jan 7th 2015, for cleaning my old spectacles. Walked in and told the staff about the same, the staff member (one who was sitting in the reception desk) took the spectacles and told me to wait. After a period of 5-7 mins, came back with a broken frame. When asked about it, told me that it was due to vibrations caused in the cleaning machine, I was shocked. The frame cost me 7,500 Rs, and I had bought it a couple of years back. When I told him it was his fault and demanded another set of frames, he outright rejected my demand and told me that the frame was old and hence the frame broke. I argued back and forth and eventually he found me another set of frames which would go with the lenses and gave me a 5% discount, grudgingly. The manager was not helpful either. Eventually paid around 5,000 Rs for a new frame, with the old lenses. The customer treatment was horrible considering my entire family of 4 have been coming to Lawrence and Mayo for the past 8 years and we purchase around 7,000 to 8,000 Rs worth spectacles every 2 years , so that is roughly 30,000 Rs every 2 years. The professionalism on the part of the staff was horrible, when I spoke to the them in the local language they smirked and talked to me in butler English, When I retorted back in English and kept speaking with them continuously in English, they reverted back to Tamil. I cannot understand why would they employ such pathetic individuals. The frame which they gave me was not my choice and when asked for other frames he replied this is the only frame available for which my lenses were a good fit, out of the 1000s of frames available. Utter bullcrap, I had to wear this frame since I was wearing my second set (spare set) of spectacles and my first set (one I usually wear) of spectacles were broken and I wanted to get a new pair in May, my usual time to get spectacles. I had come to clean my spectacles(spare set) and was completely left in limbo. Customer service is horrible. Will go to GKB opticals which is located in the same road,near the traffic signal close to pazhamudir cholai. Also looking at online options.
