TG-DSC, XRD, FTIR, SEM, FT-Raman, GCMASS, VSM etc, facilities available here. Usually it takes 1week for internal users for slot allotment and nearly 3-4 weeks (depends upon which instrument/ measurement needed) for external users. Good news is that preference is given to external users.

SAIF is established and run by DST. Here a number of advanced measurement facilities are available. These are available to students from IITM as well as from other institute and industries. Presence of user from place far away from IIT is not mandatory. They may send sample by post. All details are available on website. Only drawback is the process of getting measurement done for some facilities is too slow. May be because of a huge number of people in Que or administration problem.
