Great heritage hotel. Excellent service. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms have old charm but also modern conveniences like AC. Very peaceful and silent. Lots of Chetinad history. There is small museum in the property. Hotel can organise Bullock cart rides.

I was never told before I arrived - and was mad to pay Rs 5000 in advance - that they were in fact full and that I would be accommodated in an adjacent building. The room stank and the bed was as hard as if I had slept on the floor. NOT worth the effort of getting there or seeing the mansions...
