Rooms are v good and food is wow. Definite place for people who love heritage place and some authentic chettinad food! I loved the food there!

Place was very nice. Could really experience a true chettinad house. The food given for complimentary breakfast was mouthsmackingly good. The other full courses were expensive . We ordered chicken gravy and chappathi. But the gravy was not in the chettinad style as we had expected. That was the only shortfall of our otherwise splendid stay.

Rooms are beautiful.You have to take a flight of stairs to reach the rooms.Vegeterian chettinadu was hopeless,it was a challenge a get veg food.

There is interesting to see how this one mansion from the good old days, seamlessly blends with the modern times. A walk in the village of Kadaipatti reveals many such buildings in semi-dilapidated state which may have had a rich heritage, plush interiors, grand corridors and what not, but only Chidambara Vilas stands to live up to its former days of glory.Needless to stay, the interiors are amazing. Intricate wood carvings, the pillars, woodwork, the architecture can easily floor you. To add to this, the wonderful food, the leaf plate meals, elaborate breakfast and dinner can make you immobile due to over-eating. The recreation room with chess, carom, pool table, snakes & ladders can keep you busy, while the amazing jacuzzi in the pool is wonderful for an evening swim. The cherry on the cake is the exceptional hospitality and the extraordinary staff.

One of the finest hotel in kanadukathan.The building is chettinad architecture, converted to rooms.The rooms are spacious, has well equipped air conditioning, TV, modern western toilet , .. over all good place to stay

Awesome place to stay at Kanadukathan, heart of Chettinad. Excellent hospitality and great food. Perfect for a quite laid back weekend.
