    Located 20km, away from Atmakur, the tiny village Mahimalur is existed. According to the Epigraphical records possessed the temple of Chennakesava, Mulasthanachayadeva and Nagesvaradeva. However only the Chennakesava temple has survived the ravages of time which is also in much ruinous condition. A record dated A.D 1217 registers the gift of land by Bomminayaka to the Chennakesava temple. A flat roofed shrine consisting of a Mukhamandapa and a Garbhagriha has a few noteworthy features despite its ruined state. The padabandha type of adhisthana the two jambed doorway decorated with the lataptra with Gajalakshmi on the lalata. The dvarapalas at the base of the jambs are worthy of mention. The Chennakesava temple belongs to the early part of the thirteenth century A.D as the only one inscription found in this temple is dated A.D1217. The architectural features also confirm the above date.
