Nice quiet place for weekend visit. It runs a 1 hour boat ride to an island inside the nagarjuna Sagar reservoir, where there is a museum showcasing some sculptures dating back to the early stone age. The museum is maintained by the archeological survey of india. The boat ride is pretty spectacular as the water body is quite large with small hills surrounding it. Plus the weather during July is terrific, for the monsoons. The gates of the dam open only when excess water is to be thrown out. Most of the times water level stays below the gates mark.
