Primarily a run down ferry ghat for daily commuters from Shibpur, Howrah to directly reach the office district of Kolkata I.e. Dalhousie and High Court area across the Ganges. One can cross over on mechanised launches to Babu ghat and Fairly Place, a nice trip of 10 to 15 min across the river with view of iconic and historical Howrah Bridge and The City of Palaces.
