Established in 1930 by Dr Cecil Duncan a Scottish surgeon, the hospital has been serving the people of India and Nepal since. At present having around 200 beds it is equipped with an ICU, NICU, labor room, operation theatres, laboratory services, blood banking and numerous facilities. Clinical services offered are medicine and endocrinology, surgical, paediatric, obstetric and gynaecology, orthopaedic and some surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, dental and psychiatry. Training services include a nursing school, lab school and numerous research projects A large community program involving over 80 workers are involved in maternal and child health, advocacy, community based rehabilitation, HIV and AIDs, human trafficking, mental health and palliative care.
